Like it a lot - but...

 

Hi,

 

I do like the new lay out a lot.

But there are some buts for me.

 

First: I have issues with the contents listing disappearing after opening an article. I'd like to see the contents remain in view. Fixable?

Second : "Longer responses have a page icon.  You can click anywhere on the text to expand inline.  To expand click on the text of the message .  Do not click on the title.  You can now sya (stay!) on the same page and expand the two reponse that are longer that what is on Display."

Man, I'm so used to clicking on BLUE lines to expand or open that it's virtually impossible for me to click on a text to expand it. Mind you, I'm only on PC or Laptop. Clicking on the BLUE title makes the whole expandable thing go belly up. Why this has to be this way, I just don' t understand.

 

Third: Only the original post appears to show pictures. All other pics are hidden and there's no icon to show a picture is in the post.

 

I understand that some people are happy to view websites on tiny hand held devices and have to keep bandwith down (eventho they wear AP or Patek.)

But I happen to be on a 15+ MBps cable and I don't mind seeing all the pics in every answer!

Sorry, but I find the new interface to be very confusing. To begin with, is there no longer an option to use the familiar, old-style threaded view? very disappointing if not, and if so, I see no obvious way to revert to it. I also fail to see the basic co...

yes very confusing also cannot scroll past the first page I wish you left it how it was

So much more space has been dedicated to the articles so you have bigger pictures. Easy view whole threads. Are you on your desktop or Ipad? Thanks Bill

Am using new UI/ APP for a while now & have got pretty used to it.. Especially on iOS devices.. Just really different !!.. Overall like it !

Just some little 0,02 cents: / The red Dot ( on laptop) and blue Dot on iOS devices work and make the recognition of what\'s new, easy. Sure, the fact that images are displayed, once you click text in the right pane, and then scrolling down if you want to...

Thanks for your thoughts. All valid points. Some we should be able to fix right away image icon to denote images present in collapsed mode. Also i guess maybe we can detect the desktop and potentially offer larger data sets. Thinking cap is on and your th...

working on: Less confusion so as to have the same behavior with the blue link. done: Increased the view all for now to 30 responses from 10. Still trying figure out other improvements. Thanks Bill

Hi Bill, Thanks for the behavioral change of the blue links. It's much more intuitive now. And there' s a lovely little photo button as well to let us know there's a pic in the post - brilliant! Thanks for the great work! W:)

Chrome problems

There appears to be an issue when trying to use the side menu with Chrome insofar as the slider that lets you move up down doesn't appear. It may well be me, but thought it worth bringing it to your attention on the off chance it was affecting others' bro... 

Do you have a roller on your mouse. That works but not the pointer.

the layout of the new site with disorganized photo listing the articles inside the threat is awful. confusing to use. I've been viewing and participating on this site for years but no longer find it helpful. need an option to go back to the classic view, ...

I thought that was only for logging in but now realize new options appear after logged in. Thank you. /david

The option remains on until you switch back to the picture mode.
