We have tried to combine the old and new to give a smooth, easy and efficient way to navigate. We like efficiency because a lot of users are on mobile devices so we need to help conserve bandwidth. We also like speed so the seasoned users can get to the data fast.
A couple of slides to help illustrate.
The first one is the standard view you get below any given article.
The threaded discussion appear below indented to show the child parent relation.
Responses are summarize i.e. closed. However many show the integrity on their response so short responses are easy to spot.
Here we see a couple of short responses and a couple longer.

Longer responses have a page icon. You can click anywhere on the text to expand inline. To expand click on the text of the message . Do not click on the title. You can now sya on the same page and expand the two reponse that are longer that what is on display.

Third way to look at the responses is the view all option. This expands all the responses to you can read the whole article in one sitting. You can also reply to any post in this display.

The view all expands all the comments. You can also reply to any post.

There is one more view for the picture oriented post. This is great for thread like wrist scan of where there are many responses with pictures. This view is found on the menu bar with any article.

The result looks like this. The text is removed and you can scroll through the pictures only. To go back to the text display just click on the icon once again.

Finally an perfect example with one response. The response is not the last one but buried in the middle. The visual cue helps for one or more responses.
I hope you enjoy this small tutorials.
Thanks
