I saw this programme on TV a few weeks ago, very interesting and informative look at a pivotal point in horology. Breguet was a genius by any interpretation of the word. I highly recommend everyone making time to watch this.

But Breguet did not invent the automatic watch. The automatic watch if I am not mistaken was invented by Abraham-Louis Perrelet in the 1770s and Breguet improved on this. It was not until 1928 that an Englishman called John Harwood started selling automat...
