to wear by the pool Ken. The ladies looking at your watch, I think it's a subtle way to show favour to the wearer. You don't expect them to look you in the eye & smile,do you? That's too forward in their culture. 
Just my deduction but I could be wrong

Not billiard, but the swimming pool I took my nephew to the nearby hotel pool and mostly lying on the beach bed - with my PuristSPro ARB watch on my wrist. People looked at my watch and made a strange look but seemed not able to take their eyes off I felt...
