When it comes to elegance these days. There’s well known manufactures calling 8mm+ watches Ultraslim, so nothing to worry about here. And for me at least neither would be out of place in most semi- formal to formal settings, so yes, certainly elegant.

The most off putting thing for me of the Breguet is its straight lugs which makes the watch wear larger than it should even at 38mm. The RW Smith I shall reserve my verdict until 2020! But you are right, I have this awful habit of wanting the best of ever...
