Absolutely right!
The price of something has not much to do
with the enjoyment factor. Sometimes in watchworld
there can be a bit of the Emperor's new clothes.
That's not to say there aren't expensive pieces that
are aesthetically and technically amazing. Like
your Mido very much. Years ago I had a Mido multifort
automatic with a gorgeous black dial and great case.
My ex wife has it. Oh well.

I had one , but sold it due to the very small and recessed crown which is very difficult to wind.
That will not be an issue if we wear the watch daily , so we almost never have to use wind the crown. But since i wear the watch in rotation, it was painful. Otherwise I love everything about the watch. Beautifully made, high retro vibe, good legibility, ...
