I'm selling most of my watches but decided to keep the three I actually wear. I plan on being interred wearing one and the other two will be gifted to my nephews when they graduate from college.
I really appreciate high quality mechanical watches but I never really enjoyed wearing my Pateks. They just sat around "collecting dust" while my Grand Seiko watches got all the wrist time. [Well now I have a GO perpetual that gets 90% at least until leap day 2020.]
I think an ideal collection would have no more than seven watches that all get worn frequently. If you don't wear it then it is probably unnecessary.
