Can someone explain the history of this Panerai strap fetish?
Does it have any sort of historical link, or is it a more erecent phenomenon? Did the company start this by offering a large OEM choice, or was it small independent makers that contributed to the craze? And why Panerai more than othe brands? Is it because apart from a couple of different styles of case, they all look the same anyway?! ;-)

this might be a silly question
why are the two time displays on such odd different times ? not a time zone issue i assume ? is it so you can arrive late at meetings and point to the display of choice and claim: "look, it's only xyz now" ?
