Each dot represents one measured watch.
So for example I measured four IWC cases. The biggest two are great original examples, the third is my IWC factory refinished case, and the fourth is a polished example. The polished one was around 0.15mm smaller than an unpolished one. The biggest mystery is the 38.5mm Cyma. That’s my case and the measurement is certain. It wasn’t issued so might be something non-standard but I have no idea.
There are also some other discrepancies but perhaps that’s measurement variations as some guys sent me measurements of theirs. I obviously don’t have control over their equipment (and technique LOL), but hopefully with more samples it will be clear what the outliers are.
Edit: here’s the strange Cyma. There’s been some work around the crown tube, but I don’t see any evidence that the whole case has been reworked. And besides it would be quite a big job to make it bigger ! Other than the size the engraving looks thick, but it also look quite correct to my eye. It came in a small lot of four partial watches from Berlin, the other three being WWW Record, Vertex, and Lemania, so the circumstantial evidence is that it’s at least legitimate.
