Horological Meandering

Fantastic thoughts, Larry!

What if the "thing" here really is variety, and the rest is elaboration (how many we need at a time, whether variety is achieved through large holdings at a single moment or steady turnover of a smaller collection, what types, etc.) and rationalization (how do I get over the feelings of remorse for a particular sale or purchase, how can I justify going over my budget yet again, what do I tell my spouse)?

You've said a mouthful, my friend.

One think that I find really interesting is that several of the responses to my initial post suggest that folks found it revelatory on my part. If so, it was a bit unintentional -- my sense was that I was writing a somewhat dispassionate catalogue of transactions! It's great that with even that initial stimulus we are all able to tap into the deeper emotional content behind our watch passion.

It is a delight having you as both a watch buddy and a friend -- may we both be "watch crazy" for a long time!

Best,

Gary
