Stephen, If ever a watch lived up to Leonardo da Vinci’s (& Apples) philosophy, “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication” it has to be your ALS (or the PP3939). The 3 favourites in my collection are my Favre Leuba Sea King I got at...
I had the opportunity to sit with Kari in his atelier while he showed me a variety of dials and inserted them into a RG case so I could see exactly what they looked like. At the end of the day, I'm really happy with the choices that he helped me to make! ...
I left & came back to this watch 3 times. The blue adds a casual touch combined w/ high water resistance & a simple case design w/ my fav, turned lugs. All save 1 of my watches are 3 handers. I just don't have a draw to high complications, though ...
Have not seen that occur yet. Gary should be reassured, he has excellent taste even if he should never have let go of the RG Master Memovox. Best regards, George
But, it is ok mon ami, always a better opportunity down the road for you! I have had encounters with this piece before, super nice! Enjoyed my few moments with it. Stephen
In terms of owned, Richard Lange platinum, it's perfect. Desired....Roger Smith Series 2, although it has a power reserve. Plus an Observatoire and a Simplicity.
Love all four of those...tough to pick a favorite though! Cheers, Tim P.S. I must also make mention of your superb photography, truly humbled seeing those pictures. Thank you for sharing them!
That sounds like some arcane law of economics: "Regardless of economic capacity our horological wish lists always grow to exceed by a minimum factor of +1 our ability to acquire those on the list". Cheers, pplater.
There are alot of blue straps out there, but not many Bleu straps! Happy hunting, although i could direct you to one very brilliant source! Btw, is yours 34 or 37 mm? Once again, my heart is out for you. And if it is possible, may i have a peek at the inn...
(the 'railway track' on the 37 is on the outside of the dial; on the 34 it is inset). At risk of self-promotion, for the 'heart', click here: ahci.watchprosite.com Cheers, pplater
Must...have...Simplicity... (Hey -- my repeated use of a similar mantra for the Antiqua worked, so why not this one?) Splendid, splendid watch and photos! Best, Gary G
If the questioner wants "simple" watches that are "three handed" also, then your point is core But if questioner wants to see watches that are "simple three-handed" watches (i.e., they're "simple" simply by dint of the fact that they are "three handed") t...
May i ask what version of metal is that Observatoire? I remembered reading it somewhere but would like to confirm? I think it's a piece unique? Thanks! Stephen
.. all examples are piece unique, more or less, as it was created by the owner's combination choices. This one in the photo is PT case and black dial is unique, I heard. Other than the case and dial, this example is a standard one Ken
so I have four to share. I LOVE all of them but probably wear the ones on the ends the most. From L to R: Breguet 1775, VH classic (RG), Panerai 183g, Patek 3960g This message has been edited by eloise on 2011-10-28 10:15:45...
has only 2 hands As you know, I'm a poor photographer armed w/just an iphone. One day in Paris, you can take pictures of them - and actually do the some justice
1) Omega PO 42mm (I'm on a Omega phase -- go to write why some time in the future) and/or 2) Longines Legend DIver (no calendar, please) Nothing very complicated or expensive. Cheers, Nilo
