GP boxes
GP is a particular offender in this aspect. I am sure your artisan (?) will do a great job. I always wanted a personalised box, made to my requirements.
Personally, I value manufacturers who sell watches in diminutive but high quality boxes (Kari I believe, FP Journe)
My AP or Rolex boxes do not suffer this fate.

But my Jorg Hysek, JL and some Rolex have very serious problem.

There is absolutely no need for such large boxes
Everyone really should think about the environment and future. Those expensive wooden boxes are completely unnecessary. A small pouch (leather perhaps) should be sufficient.
My preference is for the "coffin type" box that came with the Grand Seiko SBGR095
