Great post
The balance between striving for the greatest degree of orginal condition and the preservation of horological heritage is not straightforward to my mind. Rare and distinguished calibres such as yours should not be discarded as worthless even if separated from an original dial or case - however deplorable we may find the earlier separation. I think that this gives new life to a piece of great charm and quality and is therefore to be applauded.
There is a world of difference between the false misrepresentation of authenticity and the honest preservation of a heritage piece in new form.

I do see the resemblance. The same can, of course, be seen with the influence of the Peseux 260. In both cases, however, I'd choose the original over the updated versions. Cheers, Tony C.

The results look superb, congratulations on such a success.
I've not held any distinct prejudices against such marriages, I think redials (or plainly fake dials) and inappropriate mixing and matching are still difficult to tolerate though.

This is very nice! These are very rare pieces! I had a chance to purchase one about 6 years ago and didn't know what I was looking at, and passed it ! Kicking myself since! :) Do show us more photos once you've strapped it on the wrist! S
