Non-factory strap/buckle (Jean Rousseau) advantages

- superb material and color choice
- store lit by natural lighting, possibility of taking strap outdoors to gauge color.
- nice straight cut of strap.
- nice shape of buckle.
- custom fitted
- cheap compared to branded buckle.
- very pleasant buying and fitting experience.

So far this strap has been really pleasant to wear; the strap is a snug oval on the wrist, giving the skin a lot of space to breathe. Also, the watch has a nice balance on the wrist. Although my strap is high-end, I think a cheaper leather would have been a perfectly reasonable choice for a "lesser" watch.

I think Rousseau somehow know something about making good straps and fitting them. I'll think about using the brand buckle, but I don't have any particular love for it.
