IWC uses a 2892 KIT -- not an assembled ebauche. They replace: the gear train wheels and levers mainspring and barrel a 21 K gold mass is added to the rotor for winding efficiency all parts are finished and assembled by hand

Your insight has provided me with an additional level of comfort. This watch just came from a full service by Richemont and is under warranty. The previous owner (a trusted enthusiast) sent it to IWC for a service and they put it through the whole 9 yards...
