Hi, congratulations on your purchase.
The original 388 cell is obsolete but it works with a new SR731/V329 battery. But be careful, it has to be installed with the plus pole down, like this:
You MUST NOT touch the other parts of the movement other than the screws or the clamp holding down the battery, these old quartz movements are really delicate so please be extremely careful!

Cool and historically important movement
Hopefully someday, the full story of quartz watches from 1969 to (say) 2019 will be told. Fifty years. To complement Doensen's magisterial work, which covers 1950 to 1983. UG in-house started with the cal. 74 of 1975 and apparently concluded with the cal....

I would be grateful. The link from chmandaue contains some very interresting information, also about Cal 74 but it somehow remains a bit of a mystery, despite its historical significance.
