I’ve been hoping they would put the Caliber 400 in the Divers 65. And I love the 38mm size and no date.
But this particular dial and bezel combo doesn’t quite do it for me. Something about the color of the indices and hands against that dial color, and the choice of a countdown bezel seems “reaching” to me. Also, the photos on Hodinkee’s website feature two different handsets — one, like the above photo with black outlines and second hand, and the other, from the ordering page (attached), with metallic outlines and second hand. Strange.
I came close to pulling the trigger, but it’s not compelling enough to add to the collection or replace my current Divers 65. Not that my opinion matters as I’m sure it’s already sold out.

Love the hand-lettered look of the 'ORIS' up top. But all in all I don't think any version of the Divers 65 has beaten Oris's first one!
I typically like Hodinkee's simple, traditional designs
... but this one seems too simple, lacking in any striking feature or color. I like some individual elements (e.g., big crown and bezel) but the whole seems less than the parts. Hard to say for sure without seeing more pictures.
It's nice but I'm a little worn out on 70-80's homage pieces...

But I find that it is priced a tad too high, it is more expensive than a BB58 and not far from an Omega Seamaster. Even if the Caliber 400 and 10 years warranty are impressive in their own rights, I am not sure if people will jump on board in light of the...
