Horological Meandering

I’ve been toying with the idea of getting one for some time and have been looking on and off for the past 2 years. Embarrassingly, for the last 15 years of this hobby, when I traveled with watches I’ve used a thick wool sock and a watch pillow (last pic),...  

but honestly, there’s nothing wrong with your original strategy either💪🏽

I too use socks, not only watches sometimes camera lenses as well😂.

Although I'd recommend a material that is guaranteed not to scratch watches.
