To make it short, it was a system patented by Mr ERwin Piquerez, in 1956, to ensure a great water resistance to the watches case. Often, but not always, these Super Compressor watches share the same shape of the case. As we'll see. Best, Nicolas

I got really lucky as I bought it from the original owner a couple of years ago. I had the plexi replaced, and managed to find the steel bracelet as well to help cope with the hot climate over in my hometown. Thanks for your your kind words, my friend! It...

the funny thing is that i didnt know it was a supercompressor until i posted it. Bill Sohne then pointed out that it had the ref numbers for a supercompressor and was a pretty uncommon piece being a single crown version. best Graham

Hi, Mike, Here's a draw which will illustrate what is a super compressor case ( Credit " Invenit and Fecit " ) Yes, it has an intenral rotating bezel, and it is seriously water resistant ( 200 meters ). In fact a super compressor case has a screw in case ...  

Nicolas, By your definition, my LLD is NOT a Super Compressor because it has screw in crowns Please, clarify. On other hand, I had the impression that the internal rotating bezel is not a hard requirement and the Super Compressor was more, as it's on the ... 

....if your case is not made by EPSA, then it cannot be a Super Compressor. Modern JLCs/Longines/IWC/Ocean7/what have you, by definition, aren't Super Compressors. They take all the cues, such as hash-marks on the crowns, diver helmet logos, etc....but I ... 

Ben sadi it all, the re editions have the llok of the Super Compressor cases, not the technology. They are ... " Tribute To ... ". Enicar made some very nice specimens of Super Compressor Cases. Please, steal it to your daughter! Best, Nicolas

....don't get me wrong. I think the likes of the Longines Legend Diver and the JLC Polaris re-edition are brilliant. The modern 'tributes' give you all of the upsides, especially water resistance, but still sadly miss out on the character and originality ... 

I totally understand and agree with what you said. Yes, as Vintage watches, you have to show some care about them, because spare parts are not evident to find.... I'm still hunting a new plexy for one of my Vintage Super Compressor... Best, my friend. Nic...

Cool watch! It is a colorful version of the JLC MM Deep Sea, at least the case looks a bit like this JLC. As for the LLD, it is a Tribute, so the case is not, literally speaking, a Super Compressor, but an Homage to its Super Compressor Mother! Nice duo, ... 

... indeed, i also love my Fortis. the color dial is so interesting to me. however honestly i do not know how to read those numbers on the dial. do you know by the way?! another interesting you remind me is that the case looks like JLC MM Deep Sea's one. ... 

Like the Super Compressor case of the Polaris, shared by U.G, Longines, Vulcain, and so on... Sometimes, there are some surprises... Will have to do a post about this. Best, Nicolas

Oooh yes, I would have really liked to get this Droz! But wait, the most cruel I lived in my Collector's life was last year, when I saw a FS post about a Vintage Polaris 65, complete box and papers and in superb condition. I called the seller, who answere... 

...are great. They still kick around on the 'net occasionally. I inspected one about 2 years back...It was stuffed: some matelot got at it with a wrench and a std screwdrver.. but looking back...so cheap! Grrrr!

I missed two of them, in these 12 last months... But I want an original one, not with a relumed dial. And they say that the hunt is part of the pleasure.... Best, Nicolas
