Not Citizen Leopard but this one

Hi Graham,

Just wanna share an opinion mostly known by Japanese collectors with you here, the answer to GS particularly the first model (3180) and the second model (430 or 5722 or one shown by TonyC) was not Citizen Leopard at all but it was Citizen Chronometer 31 Jewels (shown below).

It was honestly a pride of Citizen giving to Japanese people and the answer to GS in terms of all aspects (accuracy, design, price quoted that time, finishing). Unfortunately, Citizen had made it (definitely hand-made) for only 4 years before completely stopping its production.

A Citizen's subsequent answer to GS and KS was then Citizen Chronomaster (both hand-wound and automatic). Unfortunately again..., Citizen no longer make mechanical Citizen Chronomaster nowadays...but only (probably) the most superior quartz Citizen Chronomaster.
