PD - a keeper...forever.
The sporty nature of the Porsche Design watch is what drew me into it.
It's tough. Maybe even tougher than my SS Rolex GMT.
The PD runs on a generic ETA 7750 movement but yet the trans back shows some nice details - such as the rotor in the shape of a Porche's 19 inch wheel.
However, between the original leather strap of my MB and PD's rubber strap, I find these 2 watches to be the most uncomfortable out of my collection.
The PD is quite heavy, even with the rubber strap. And the resale value of that watch is abysmal. So far none of the 2nd hand dealers I've come across will even look at it.
And in terms of servicing, I've already taken it in for 2 repairs in its 3 years with me: one for the chronograph function and the other because the crown would not screw back in. Relatively speaking, only my Bvlgari has been in the shop more frequently.

for your maiden post. I would guess you're a bit of a bracelet person? Is the Porsche Design really the only non-bracelet watch that you own? Very fine taste indeed!
The Mont Blanc originally came with a leather strap.
But I found that the wiggly section where the strap joins the case drove me nuts. It was a bit better after I re-jigged it but then I found the design of the strap to be uncomfortable. This surprised me as I've heard that leather straps tend to score high...

Uh...come to HK. I can show you a number of different Rieussecs (incl the limited ed ones) over here. But then I guess some watches gravitate to some places more than others. Even with the sheer number of boutiques and stores in HK, I found more rare gems...
