Perception of PuristSPro
Before spending a little time here, my initial perception of this group was a small clique of Robb Report overachievers. Seriously.
I think the notion of "purist" along with a forum discussing expensive watches and "purist" lifestyle to many could be notion of elitist ("we're special!"- in not an inclusive way).
It took me a little time here getting to know the players to see that it wasn't.
I also think the language of the site framework may be a little too fussy for most. Trying too hard to push a concept that may or may not resonate with more than a limited audience.\
I do know of a couple people who post elsewhere who are intimidated by this place.
That being said, this has become one of my favorite forums. Having been able to meet a few of the participants at local GTGs and have a few email chats has been wonderful.
It's all about people and personal connection anyway.
This is a diverse group and it's truly fun to see it come together. If I can post here, anyone can.
