Please help! My Grandmother brought this watch from Germany to US after war. I have not seen this marking on other watches and want to know what this means? This message has been edited by AndrewD on 2012-01-17 20:03:46...

. . . first quality [1/Q], and was displayed on Glashütte watches with GUB chronometer movements in the '60s. Does the word 'chronometer' appear on the dial? Cordially, Art

i'm still on the lookout for one dating from 1964, but dating is hard. i've just picked up a Junghans chronometer which is a very similar watch. if this is now your watch get it serviced and wear it. you wont see many other like it. best Graham

& if the GUB version, this movement: after seeing which, you will probably be glad you do not have the '2nd quality" version...
