As for instantaneous perpetuals, the only ones I know of right off the top of my head are the Roth of yesteryear and the Patek 5207. I didn't know the L.U.C. Lunar One switched over instantaneously.

. . . correct. Our Austrian watchmaker - who bears a resemblance to you, btw! - made the same observation. Perhaps Snak will have an opportunity to take a few images of the chronometer in its disassembled state for us.

... winding hand had indeed been replaced, having been done before my god friend purchased this in the late 60s. Given the historical nature of this fine timepiece, I would like to eventually find a correct hand for it.
