Art,
Thanks for chiming in.
I am aware of the history of the El Primero (arguably the best automatic chronograph movement ever designed). I am very happy with the direction that the new management is taking the brand over the last few years.
What I was responding to was what I had heard from a local Zenith dealer (who is no longer a Zenith AD) that he had tremendous difficulty getting parts for his customers such as straps, clasps etc and reliable delivery on watches. This was about two years ago to be fair. I also heard similar poor service stories regarding Zenith (long waits, watch not repaired or damaged watches etc.). Again, to be fair; both Swatch Group and Richemeont brands as well.
In the end, LVMH is a mega-company and Zenith is their price jewel (let's see what happens with Bulgari) and I am sure that they will care for their asset. So this is unlikely a determining factor.
