One of the days I’ll make a post about my Ebel watches.
So sad they belong to that stupid Movado group… put them in a group that understands Ebel’s history and importance and we could have a fantastic brand
A brand that deserves a lot of respect…. Like it had in 1980’s, 1990’s
Such iconic watches with an iconic design…. After the family sold it in 1995 to invest corp, that sold it 1999 to LVMH and in 2003 to Movado they messed it up and made monstrosity’s in the years 2010
Somehow I wish they would still belong to LVMH…. Best of all would ofcourse be to the Ebel family
I hope someone steps up and does what happened to Girard Perregaux… a management buy out and go independent again

Ebel and Rolex were after the quartz crisis the forces that acquired El Primero movements, in case of Rolex they were modified, but they contributed to the resurgence of El Primero and Zenith.

Indeed. Ebel was first and Rolex second but first by volume. Initially Ebel got left overs from EP saved by Mr Vermot. Then the production had to resume which was only possible
as Mr Vermot had not obeyed and not destroyed all the past production equipment.

if i remember correctly , it was he who directed Pierre-Alain Blum to Charles Vermot ans Zenith. And later to D.D. for the QP module on the 136.
