I honestly don't know how to help you decide, lol. Some questions you can ask yourself. Do you have a preference regarding SS or PM? Which piece offers more contrast between dial and bracelet? How does each piece make you feel when wearing it? Will this be a daily wearer, weekends only, or for special occasions? Which one will be easier to replace if you end up missing it? Just some thoughts.

i tend to like AP purely because of the easy recognition factor of Rolex by most. Best, mahesh.,

Day Date for me had to be in Yellow Gold or nothing and ideally in 36mm....
Replace the DD40 dial for blue with romans and it stays forever

Rolex is nice and desireable
An accomplishment as a collector... But AP is far harder to collect... You decide. I like the AP for its design and execution. The Rolex probably is easier to replace...
