When it pours it floods
When it is dry, some days feel like a desert. My life has been filled with terrible ups and terrible downs. For 5 years, I could not even think about watches or even a $5k motorbike which I desperately needed for work. But those days are far behind now, I thank God I escaped those times. There are some prominent members previously who had tough times, and they simply stopped participating altogether.
One day, I was checking my emails and found a strange email sent. Someone was updating the whole world about a prominent member’s lawsuit. I simply replied: “I’m sorry I don’t know him well enough beyond the watch hobby. Let the judge be the judge, he is innocent until proven guilty.”

This strap is actually very cheap and plastic-y (including the sound it makes). It came free in a buy 2 get 1 free deal. But I run a tight ship, no straps to waste.

My wife has her own collection; one son momentarily showed interest.
But now she rarely wears a watch (after all, who leaves the house any more?) and my son completely lost interest. That is fine with me; watches are time-consuming and expensive and should only be pursued if one is really motivated.
I’m lucky
I am very lucky because I have 3 passions: watches, photography and golf And my wife shares all 3 passions. She just has bit more budget control than I do which is actually a good thing fir our pension plan

My girlfriend is (was?) not much into watches, but since she now attends most events with me, I think she's slowly getting the bug....;-)) And she can also wear pretty well the "huge" watches despite her small wrist, which is always a good sign! :-)
