Winter is coming - seasonal shot of the Ming 17.01 Anthracite ❄️
As HSTE mentioned the other day the recent temperature drop combined with heavy rain very much looks like a harbinger of winter coming Mich sooner than expected. In two days the temperatures here dropped from around 28 to 7 😱🥶
So figured a seasonally appropriate shot was in order 😉
Haven’t posted this watch in quite a while - the original launch Ming - the 17.01, here the anthracite dial version.
The main feature of the watch - one that didn’t get repeated in the same way but that formed a theme of sorts - is the sapphire dial with the so called digital guilloche.
Unless your photography skills are closer to the brand’s namesake than they are to mine, it’s an effect not always easy to capture but one that definitely adds a lot to the visual appeal of the watch and ensures it’s never boring checking it out on the wrist.
The watch also introduced the overall design language and the brand has been excellent at maintaining that through all the following models. Be it the lugs, hands, case, 0 instead of 12… it all evolved while remaining recognizably Ming.
While later watches significantly upped the movement variety and quality, the first ones were powered by a lowly Sellita handwound. But they did sell at a truly aggressive price the first time.
Any others around?
