Did they both provide the watches to RCAF concurrently? I am assuming it was merely their movement infused into the air forces' approved design or did one (or both) contribute to this?

I still have the Breitling one in a very poor shape, with a repainted dial and wrong hands (and a movement that has seen better days). A project for another time 🤞🏻
