I went to my local watch shop today to drop off the Ulysse Nardin hi beat chronometer for a necessary oil change. After all, it has been sealed in the box for 30 years and is not quite ready for use. Before going I checked the website for new arrivals at ...  

I saw that watch in the very same dealer's listings and said to myself "it's too small for me, I hope whoever gets it knows what a fascinating and unusual piece they have" Wear it well! A

My usual saleslady did not agree with the owner's assessment that I would want it and had not emailed me about it. He was chortling about being proved right.

Here is a pic. This dealer has Camille Fournet bands with his imprint for watches that require replacement bands. He switched it to a short for me. Frankly, I prefer buckles because by nightfall I have to adjust the band smaller - my wrist swells up a bit...

The dial is described as hand etched and whitened. I have no further details as to the process. The size is 34mm. 33mm to 37mm is my comfort zone, although I own a range of sizes. The lugs and the uncluttered dial design make the watch appear bigger, but ...

This is one of those times when the secondary market functions efficiently - some of the older pieces are simply too small for today's tastes. Ginger
