Garrick S2 Back from the UK with a new dial!
A huge shout out and thank you to the team at Garrick! I had originally ordered this watch with a frosted dial to be a stealthy under the radar everyday watch and it was.... but maybe it's being around jewelry everyday for work I was missing a little bit of flash. Garrick was awesome, fit an extra dial into their busy production schedule, and installed this new guilloched dial to my watch. The radial guilloche is unreal, so dynamic that static photos can't begin to do it justice. The plating is a dark almost gun metal so the dial can go dark to light depending on the lighting. It is way harder to tell the time of course, the watch needs a little light to bring out the hands, but when you do get the right angle the hands, chapter ring, and balance bridge all are suddenly lit up together.
The Garrick team has been amazing to work with. They are busy, I don't know how they keep up with all their emails, but they are beer drinking watch makers vs wine drinking watch makers making (not just assembling) honest watches and I love that.

I think I see your point about the legibility. I wonder what it would look like with full heat-blued hands; the second hand looks very pretty.

Stunning dial!
I had a brief discussion with Dave a few months back for S7. Still slightly hesitant to pull a trigger since I dream of owning VIngt8 which Dave can customize to resemble it and not sure how much it would fill that spot.
