It's not the end-all be-all to me but I am curious as to why the finishing style seems quite different from the old minute repeater, which is very very well finished. I've spent quite a bit of time with that watch because a friend here owns one. I'm guess... 

That story sounds plausible. I'm not a watchmaker, so unfortunately I don't know, but I like the direction you're going.
