I will say that I prefer the look of the original Benu movement a bit more for the gold chatons, black polished crown wheel, and triple snailed ratchet wheel
But it's a minor nitpick, still a very nice movement on this one!
Benu Central Seconds
I noticed MG just released a couple of new versions of the Benu with central seconds! The seconds hand itself is gorgeous as expected. My one gripe would be the strap choice, but that's easily fixed. A very handsome new iteration of the Benu I think! ...
Nice watch and superb pics
The last photo with details of the dial / hands is absolutely stunning. The others with the movement also is nice of course but this last one is really WOW !!!
The finishing on the hands is definitely one of MG's biggest strengths
I remember reading somewhere that it supposedly takes a day to make a set of them.

Love this watch. I only wish they made it a little smaller but due to the movement size, this would not have been possible.
I'm eager to try a Benu on myself, haven't had the chance yet.
Something like this would be nice for casual wear, especially since it's in steel. But I do fear 41mm might be too big for me.
The benefits of central seconds
for me a dial keeps clean and untouched. Your MG does not have a date, makes it a good looker.

Owners of both tell me finishing is on par with Lange, at least.
Can't comment on price, but maybe Lange should be cheaper as well? Looks like things will go in the other direction.
i was told by one of our fellow purist the same...the finish is even better to Lange !
then my comment was a bit uninformed...i'll have to learn more on MG. on pricing of Lange...i think all brands have to 'cool down' on pricing & LE.
I think MG is one of the more reasonably priced independents
Considering the quality of the hands and the amount of engraving on the movement, I don't think there are too many options for better finishing at that price point.
seconds stop release
The pusher at 4 restarts the seconds hand after it was stopped by pulling the crown. This is patented abd helps avoid the jumping of the seconds hand

I think... almost, almost, almost... I also think... SO, SO, SO NICE. This brand is on the cusp. Yes the hands are spectacular, but... we need more. Yes, the movement is so brilliantly executed.... but what is unique about it? They need somehow to disting...
