It makes the 101 look really different.
I think even more so than it did for other models. The “base” 101 is such a clean rounded design that this just looks so so different.
You could put this on a matching brown/bronze colour strap, or something with more contrast (khaki green even) and it would look altogether different.

Having seen and held other T-Rex I can say these are really great in person.
For me, definitely not too much. And I think this is because of the bronze colouring, which does not oxidize. I do understand it to be engraved; Urwerk refer to it as guilloche.

I’ve had some time with a T-Rex 105 over the years and I think that iteration feels less rough/tough. I wonder if the engraving is deeper in this 101? Also, the case shape (101 and 105 being very different) may impact perception.

The 101 is a nice companion for us smaller wristed fans.
That said. I don’t know how I “value” the 101 overall. Is it too simple and less interesting overall? And does the retail price reflect that? (The first 101 were priced closer to $30k I recall, so the question here is whether the premium for the different...

Got to wonder about how easy it is to get replacement /custom straps for these pieces.
I had no issues both getting straps from Urwerk and getting custom.
Jean Rousseau have made countless straps for Urwerk. I don’t know the dimensions of this one but to me it looks like the be the same at the 105 series and so lots of interchangeable options.
I've always liked them a great deal.
Despite this iteration not being what I prefer, it still looks very impressive, and I'm confident even better in person than in images. Thanks for the update, cheers, Filip

The first series was a bit to plain for my taste. I think a UR needs to be a bit bold and outstanding. This one is exactly that
