I totally agree with you when you said what you said about long established collectors... wink A watch is like a piece of Art, a strong and personal / private relation between it and you. Some will understand, others won't. Who cares? After all, you bought it for you, not for the others.


There are so many great  watches. I for one came to the conclusion that this is the watch " per se " , not the brand, avoiding some kind of "  snobbish " approach. 

Do you remember the story about my Montblanc 1858 Tachymeter? I was sure that I would never own a Montblanc watch. A Montblanc pen, yes, a Montblanc watch, definitely not. And now, the 1858 Tachymeter is one of my favs! Just look at its movement, compare it to many others from so called prestigious brands, and objectively, you will go for it... 

You are right, each of us has to make his own journey on that matter. And to make his own decisions.
