Mixed Feelings
I do like it more after some extra time looking at the photos than I did initially, but MB&F's other pieces set an awfully high bar. Some of the other MB&F watches are quiet whimsical, but this watch just seems a little odd.
Why do I want a watch that looks like the southern end of a northbound Lamborghini? Why do I want a watch that can hold water? The display of the time is creative, but doesn't look especially beautiful to me. That said, it is unique and perhaps it has a "presence" when seen in real life.
If I were trying to decide between this sports car watch and a similarly-priced Porsche Cayman S, I'd probably go with the actual sports car.

Always good to get a first peak at a new MB&F. I feel a little Urwerk influence here but that is not such a bad thing. I don't understand the louvres and its intended purpose except for possibly evoking memories of past supercars like the Lambo Miura....

Max can do much better than this!
Therefore, I am not sure whether HM5 is a successful machine, intelligently designed with excellent perceived quality. Nothing here excites me in terms of the watch case, movement and time display. Regards Ling

It is interesting reading everyones comments both positive and negative. For me I find it a little disappointing.... The magic of HM1, 2, 3 and 4 but for me this does not quite seem to be there. I am sorry to say this as I am a huge fan of Max's creations...

I saw the black HM4 was still for sale in London a few weeks ago and I think Max has one in MAD as well! One HM4 for each wrist.... Now that is true double trouble! Cheers Andrew
