Independents

Well...

certainly some mixed reactions here...!

Coincidentally, I went and had a look at it yesterday in the metal, and I was pleasantly surprised, so I came here to post and look who just posted...
I was with Andrew when we first llooked at the pics a couple of hrs after the launch, and he will confirm that my reaction was similar to his...it just looked a bit boring and un-special coming from Max.
But having had a play with it and looked at the exploded images and gotten the speil from Hervé in the MAD gallery, I came away feeling much better about the HM5. I still can't see myself wearing one (but then this is the case with most, if not all, of the HMs), but can appreciate it's well-conceived, well-made funky-ness. The lump of saphire chrystal 'lens' and the back-ward printed discs and the little flaps, etc are make up a pretty cool 'whole', IMHO.
I still don't absolutely love it, but I kinda like it quite a bit. And I think the price is right.
I will confirm what someone else said...it's one of those watches you really have to see 'en vrai' to get a good idea of how it is.

Just my 2 centimes
