Not bad, not great either
With the Galet Square. Laurent Ferrier has already shown the ability to run out sporty dial variants with successful results. This is a step back.
This Grand Sport case feels less distinct than other Laurent Ferrier cases, borrowing elements from the cases of the Nautilus, Piaget Polo S (itself derivative), the Girard Perregaux Laureato, etc.
It is bigger and it is sportier than anything we've seen from Laurent Ferrier, but I'll match the honesty of the model name in saying that I don't think it will look too great on slender-to-average sized wrists.
Those who love hidden tourbillons will get some extra joy from the higher degree of sportiness. The sportier the watch, the bigger the surprise it would be to find a tourbillon. However, elegance is just as much a part of Laurent Ferrier's DNA as hidden tourbillons are, so I think the trade-off of elegance for surprise, is not worth it.
