This gray dial is probably much more rare than the silver dial. I always looked at the Simplicity as the ultimate purist watch (even before I knew of a site called thepurists... and so I reasoned that the dial should be silver--absolutely pure and utterly...

I would think it shilling if you talked this up and wanted to sell. Next time you;re in SG, I need to introduce you to friend of mine or 2 who are hard core indies and do share your taste and own quite a few of what you have. They are low profile lurkers ... 

Otherwise I'm sure you'll run away with that Simplicity in hand Gary!! Were you tempted even with the Antiqua in collateral? Gorgeous photos! The Simplicity is the holy grail for many, for a reason! The finish at the back is really unbeatable! Although I'... 

And what does "metalum" mean on the dial?

On the back of one of the lugs it shows a stamp Au 750, so I assume that means Gold 750 (18K). Also the tone of the case look warmer than it would be if it's platinum. As for Metalem, it's the name of a dial making house in Switzerland well known for thei...
