Roger Smith Series 2 in SS -- Photos
Greetings to all!
My friends have been on a generous streak lately, giving me the opportunity to handle and photograph a number of dream watches. I certainly think that in the independent realm, this one fits the bill -- the Roger Smith Series 2, here in its only (to date at least) appearance in a Stainless Steel case.
Quite a lovely piece to hold in one's hands and inspect, and also quite comfortable and nicely sized on the wrist. Wonderful expressions of hand work throughout the watch -- my favorite bit is the shape of the Smith hands, and I'm also quite taken by the color of the numerals. In some ways, however, the finishing of this watch to me verges a bit too much on the "hand made" -- the unsparing eye of the macro lens does pick up a number of imperfections that one would not expect to see on a Dufour piece, for example. And the English style of finishing (simple plates and bridges, frosted finishes, etc.) is either to one's taste or not -- I happen to like it, but recognize that it is not to everyone's taste.
Enough of my opinions! On to the photos:
Hope you enjoyed these! Many thanks to my good friend and Gentleman Purist of the first order for the loan of this lovely piece.
Best,
Gary G
