First off, I would like to say it was a little sad to see 1 of the first Grönefeld Grönograaf pieces being SOLD so soon after someone received it. It was brought to my attention that #13 was recently sold and then RESOLD by Watchbox at a substantial premium.
I am for FREE commerce and enterprise but since the allocation of this piece was SO difficult and knowing how many passionate collectors wanted one of the 25 initial pieces in TANTALUM, it was disappointing to see one being flipped / sold so soon, especially since the brothers have NOT even delivered all of the 25 pieces 🙊🙉🙈
What I do not get is why this person would sell it to Watchbox when they could have given it back to Grönefeld to allocate to another collector and got there money back. Seeing what Watchbox sold it for and knowing how sales margins work, it seems the original buyer most likely sold it for around retail or slightly above (if we include all taxes, import, etc...). So the only people making money off the sale was Watchbox !! 🤬😔

Whatever, guess I am not suppose to understand. I love this piece and think it is uber cool and special. In the immortal words of Conor McGregor, "FOOK'em all." 🤣💪

I also don’t understand why someone would flip it so fast but I guess he will have his reasons 🤷🏻♂️. I also would give it back to the brand and they will for sure have a long list of collectors who would love to purchase it .

I am not sure if Grönefeld would have re-bought it (after it was worn, even just for a few days) for the full retail price ...and even if Imagine you are the buyer and you don't want it anymore: would you go through the hassle to ship it back, insurance, ...
I see what you are trying to say Christian but with a piece as LIMITED to this one (ONLY 25), I just feel there was a better way to let another collector have it. WHY should Watchbox profit from the sale of this piece if they had nothing to do with it...
and why would a passionate collector have to pay MORE, who originally wanted this piece who could not receive an allocation ? As explained, all of the original 25 still have NOT been delivered 🙈🙊
What is not to get?
Since the watch resold at a substantial premium, the person selling the watch made a profit. Many folks may see this as regrettable. It is to some extent. But it also makes hard to get watches unobtainable by most, available to everyone at the current mar...
