There is a quartz oscillating crystal
and that’s the only thing a Spring Drive and a quartz movement have in common. To call the SD a hybrid isn’t accurate or fair since a quartz movement is powered by a battery and a stepper motor where an SD is powered by a conventional mainspring and gear train and will stop if not worn or wound exactly the same as a mechanical watch!
To be a hybrid surely would have encompass the driving mechanism of both being a battery/motor. The Rolex Oysterquartz you could perhaps describe as a sort of hybrid since that has a mechanical escapement, that’s similar in principle to a mechanical watch, and a proper gear train but the power is again provided by a battery and a stepper motor.

You're right that there are (a) dial, (b) case and (c) movement aesthetics to consider, and for mechanical watches all three together
The watch pictured above a humble mechaquartz so direct comparisons can be made for (a) and (b). For (c) it is likely superior to any mechanical watch in terms of timekeeping accuracy, while being plain to look at. It offers performance if not soul.

It's not completely mechanic, it's an hybrid
Though the precision and quality is remarkable, it's not my cup of tea. Anyway is by far better than any quartz movement, there's no competition between the 2 technologies

It's a nice-looking watch.
And it's well-constructed, case-wise. And it isn't pretending to be anything it's not. I don't think it deserves the criticism it's getting here. Simple and very inexpensive; good-looking. That's it.
