'Passion' in California represents several independent watchmakers.
No doubt this is a great thing for the independents... at the same time, one doesn't want them to get too big... because it's so meaningful and poetic to speak directly with them. For instance, the Habrings, Kari Voutilainen respond personally to emails.
I remember talking to Philippe Dufour one time, when I called with a question. He answered his phone as non-chalantly as any ordinary person does... "hello?' (I believe it was in English, when he answered for whatever reason.)
For the independent watch-lover, the 'accessability' of these artists is very much part of the attraction, yes?
On the other hand, there's a long, long, long way to go before these watchmakers are so big, they become 'unreachable.'
