Very nice post and personal watch!
I too had experiences with O&J that made me favorable to them... I guess it even began with the MIH at first, before O&J got going.
The irregular grip of the chrono second hand was quickly resolved and new hands were placed on the offending watches.
Then for a joke for my anniversary with an employer, instead of giving me a "gold watch" they secretly snatched my MIH and put it inside the cake they got for me.
Beat offered a two-year warranty extension if the watch had any trouble at all due to its 2" submersion in frosting.
So of course I was thrilled to buy one of the first (or was it the very first) Ochs und junior watches, a Settimania Junior. This was more than 10 years ago!

The user manual was a delight.

The only watch I've ever had that was personalized / engraved

I've had it on many straps but it's now on a stretchy fabric strap stolen from a Swatch, I think.

After discussing many alternatives with Beat, I bought another but from member Matto (via TimJ). It has a daring (for me) color combination but I've gotten used to it.

Fun to compare the evolution of these watches, buckles, etc.

And I can swap O&J, MIH and standard straps as I choose.

Not custom built for me, but customized to suit me.

The end, I guess.
