What a beauty

It's quite hard to extoll the virtues of an overlooked watch that's 20 years old. It doesn't have the attention of the brand itself, which in this case is also quite a small one that relatively few folks know or follow. Owing to being quite innocuous, it doesn't have any significant fan base either, so there's no chamber within which good vibes can reverberate.
Owing to both these absences, the result is there's no clubbability. Watch enthusiasts find it easier to express appreciation for newer, shinier things in the limelight. There's less risk involved.
Conversely, that's what makes diamonds in the rough like this so satisfying. The Ionica is objectively a superlative watch, and part of the pleasure is to be found in the fact that it can be enjoyed without those distracting layers of branding, fandom, and so on.
