When talking reliability, I was not refering to casio quartz reliability. While still a novice, I've nontheless been into watches long enough to know not to expect quartz reliability with high complication mechanicals or mechanicals in general.
Where I am coming from however is, do Debethunes break down more often than most other mechnicals, independents or not. That is a fair question in that context. Why do I ask? I have heard from someone who knows about watches as much as you do if not more that they are not too reliable and have more issues... not comparing to quartz and casios which is a given and expected but when compared to other indies and the like. I just wanted to get owner feedback in that context which although not made explicit was hoped for to be read in that context as opposed to the context you chose to read it in.
And it is also a fair question because (and maybe its just me), when I plonk down the annual salary of some for a watch, I expect it to work and not have to send it in every now and then for repairs, recalibration etc and have it laid up for 2-4 months each time. For me, that is not acceptable and I would not not suffer such a watch however beautiful, unique etc it is if it does not function as it should. And this applies even to a casio.
