Yosuke Sekiguchi's new Primevère
Independent watchmaker Yosuke Sekiguchi has unveiled the 2026 edition of his “Primevère”, which features two novelties:
- A yellow gold case, a material never used in the previous iterations.
- A Grand Feu enamel dial cut from solid gold with stylized Arabic numerals instead of Roman.
Case dimensions (39.5 x 12 mm) and movement (gorgeous, inspired by Jules Jürgensen pocket watches) remain the same.

Do you like this new dial with stylised Arabic numerals?
And do you like the combination of a yellow gold case with a black enamel dial?
I personally find the design of the Arabic numerals very appealing and I like that the numbers 4 to 8 are not flipped (yes, I've been poisoned by our dear mdg ;-) ).
And I also love the idea of a yellow gold case for such a classic looking watch.
But I'm not sure yet if I prefer the Arabic or Roman dial: Arabic is more original, but Roman is as classy as it is classic.

The caliber is gorgeous.
Unfortunately when I met him and considered acquiring one of his watches the prices had increased by 20k because he was more and more sought after… Roman might be the way to go, indeed. Best, Emmanuel

The movement is amazing.
Hard call between roman and arabic. The roman numbers are "cleaner" but i love the design of the arabic - especially figures 2, 3 and 9.

I agree, the stylized Arabic numerals are novel and excellent. As nice as the Romans are, the Arabic are also classy. I’m curious whether he offers white mets besides gold, and what the wait time is for his pieces. Thanks for sharing.

Also, as much as I love his work, and it is surely phenomenal that he can now command the prices that he does, 70-80 or more thousand for a time-only piece is, to me, incomprehensible territory to be perfectly blunt =(
