I have already come to terms with settling for a principia (since anyway, my zeitwerk has a remontoire).
But your post made me go back to why i wanted the remontoire to begin with. It’s beautiful and it’s what the brothers are known for.
So my compromise, if i can find one in the dial i want, will go for it. Am on waitlist with the brothers but i have been told no cancellations so far and the principia delivery time is now 18 months.

Seems i missed out on this. Even my dealer advising me not to hunt now as prices inflated. May have to “settle” for a principia.
Not surprised that the secondary market on these is getting hot.
This is a watch that basically has everything going for it; GPHG recognition, unusual complication, unique finishing style, very limited production, kari dial, etc. Everyone seems to love the brand, and a number of people on WPS have a Gronefeld Remontoir...

I wouldn't call the Principia a compromise!
Same level of finishing, very nice gold rotor, some cool dial+strap choices, comes with a really beautiful winder as well. Can't go wrong with either!
