As a fan of IWC ( I have owned a Mark XVI, a Spitfire UTC; sold both of them and now have Pilot 3706 that I will never sell), honestly a bit let down by the answers, although I respect their honesty.
What is see is , a smaller diameter (less than 39 mm) is unlikely to happen. Neither a more traditional manual wind movements or super high tech antimagnetic. And we still don't have a clue about the new Aquatimer will be. Also Ingenieur is due to re-boot (the current generation is a mess, TBH).
What I would like to see is a re-issue of ingenieur 666 with modern movement , true anti magnetic, and small diameter (36-38 mm).
Positively, The new 40 mm portugieser shows promising future.

I like both of those models. The 5001 has a true Pellaton winding system. A third one for you? Maybe a Pilots watch if you like the style? Otherwise, if you like the Portugeiser, the classic Chronograph is another one of my favorites!

Although honestly, more pieces could be free sprung, even those in the lower price strata. But, at the same time, the people who pay the big bucks do need to get some differentiation for the additional costs!

The answers to the interview are very direct and on point. They're very factual questions. So there's not a lot of room to extrapolate. Furthermore, it's Swiss-German, that Germanic culture is very on-point. I agree with you, the current Ingenieur is a me...
